    Óscar Delgado

From the Shadows of CybersIn an era where data is the new currency and cyber threats grow more sophisticated by the day, few dare to navigate the intricate world of digital security with both technical mastery and strategic vision. From an early stage, a passion for safeguarding systems against unseen dangers took root, setting the course for a career dedicated to cybersecurity. That journey began at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, studying Computer Engineering, followed by advanced research in Intelligent Systems at the University of Granada, and culminating in a PhD in Telematics from Carlos III University. As the digital landscape evolved, so did the complexity of cyber threats. He became a key player in the field, working with some of the most renowned cybersecurity firms, including S21sec, Verisign, and Aegon, where he took on the critical role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). But his ambition wasn’t just to defend against cyber threats—he wanted to shape the future of security itself. That pursuit led him to the Higher Polytechnic School of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), where he became a professor and led the UAM – Grant Thornton Chair in Blockchain. Today, his research focuses on cryptographic primitives in blockchain technology and AI-driven security solutions. More than just theoretical work, his contributions are paving the way for the next generation of defenses in an era where AI and cryptography redefine the rules of engagement. From the dark corridors of cyberspace to the forefront of innovation, this journey is a testament to the power of expertise, vision, and an unyielding commitment to securing the digital world.

Driven by a deep passion for the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare, Roberto has built a career at the forefront of technological innovation in medicine. Graduating in Computer Engineering from the University of Deusto and Health Engineering from the University of Burgos, he has continued to refine his expertise in Machine Learning applied to healthcare through the prestigious Machine Learning for Health master’s program at Carlos III University of Madrid. From the very beginning, his academic and professional path has been dedicated to developing AI models for medical diagnosis. During his undergraduate thesis, he designed a convolutional neural network system capable of early lung cancer detection using chest X-rays—an achievement that underscored his ability to merge cutting-edge AI with life-saving medical applications. His specialization spans natural language processing (LLMs and NLP), medical image analysis, and object detection, making him a versatile figure in the field of AI-driven healthcare solutions. Beyond research and development, he has also taken on the role of an educator and advocate for AI in healthcare. In Burgos, he organized a conference on technology and innovation in health, bringing together experts to discuss the latest advancements. His expertise has earned him an invitation to speak at the Annual Congress of the Castilla y León Oncology Association (ACLO), where he addressed the impact of AI in oncology. Additionally, he is a lecturer in the Master’s in Research and New Challenges at the University of Burgos, where he explores the role of engineering in precision oncology. Now, in his latest endeavor, he leads the Artificial Intelligence division, taking on a mission that extends beyond medicine—revolutionizing communication on social media.
